the end

Do I even remember how to do this?

"Life flows. It flows, it flows. And there are choices to be made."*

I'm making the official choice today to stop posting here. Obviously, it has been a while since I have done it anyway. And it seems both inevitable and quiet and momentous at the same time. And on a Wednesday afternoon in the middle of a normal week. We are getting this little "life journal" printed and I thought I would end it with ... something.

I named this space "Time Well Wasted." When I did that, in many ways it seemed like the perfect name. Many of the little moments documented on these digital pages were small and seemingly unimportant. Yet looking back, I can't help but think that these years and moments were anything but wasted. They were time well spent. Loving and living and smiling and crying and building a life full of little inconsequential moments, but when you look at it all together you see it wasn't inconsequential at all.

I still write down many of our little moments on Instagram. It seems to suits the stage of life I am in right now. My kids love looking at the little books made from my posts. I think they will like looking at these books too.

It's important to remember. It's important to capture small moments of joy and document them. Time spins around like a whirlwind and life gets blurry. This blog, and now Instagram, have helped me to see some of those passing moments with increased clarity. As I have said so many times, the days are long, but the years are short. Just as I look back over these past 13 years and say, "those were the good ol' days," some day I will think the same about today. If this blog has taught me anything, it is that the Good Ol' Days are Now.
