When we were taking our family pictures Ana really wanted to take some pictures by herself. So, we set the camera up on the tripod and let her point it and push the button. She has done it a few times now. Here are some pictures that she took. I told her she could tell me what she wanted to write by them. Also, she typed some at the bottom. So, here you go-

We went up to Pomerelle today to take a new family picture. We had a good time and Ana got to take a few pictures by herself which made her very happy.

Drive to Rochester

I took a ferry across Lake Champlain. It was really cool. The guy who was operating it used to design armaments for government contract stuff. He said he outfitted a C-130 with two Gatling guns during Vietnam. Anyway - here is the area the ferry took off from and then a picture of me on the ferry.




This is a picture of my rental car enjoying the scenery. They upgraded me from an economy car to this one for free because it is what they had.


This was an awesome little road I got to drive on for a few miles - leaves flying behind me just like the commercials.


Then I went to Palmyra. This is a replica of the Smith log home that my uncle Eddie helped build while he was on a service mission there in 1998.

Update from Burlington

Well, my interview went pretty well today. I think so anyway. I think I gave them a good idea of who I am and what I am all about. So, if they think I will fit things should work out great. If not - nothing I can do about it.

Anyway, here are some pics.

Between the two main parts of the Detroit airport is a big tunnel. There was this "art glass" on the walls and its colors changed with some music that was playing. It was pretty cool.



This afternoon when I was done with my interview I went into downtown Burlington. This is a picture of Church street. There were a ton of shops and places to eat.


I also walked down to the lake. It was cool. I think I am going to take a ferry across the lake tomorrow as part of my travels.


Well, there you go. Hopefully it will work out to put up another update later this week.

Weekly Photo(s)

We had the heaviest, prettiest frost on everything yesterday. I don't remember seeing it that thick before. It was really cool. My biggest regret of the day was that I didn't wake up early enough to take pictures of it before work when it was perfect. I didn't get to it until about 1:30 when the sun came out and it finally started melting. This is all I could do - a fence and some weeds behind a big building where the sun hadn't hit much yet.

These were just thin weeds. You get an idea of how much frost there was on EVERYTHING this morning.

Weekly Photo

I want to start taking more pictures. I think I will be better motivated to take cool pictures if I am committed to share one once in a while. Every week before Sunday I will try to post a new picture of the week.

I took this one today because I noticed the light from the window on this bowl of gourds Erin had out. I was mostly playing around or I would have made sure the background of the picture was uniform instead of being on the edge of the table. Either way, I still like the lighting. Then I just played around with a couple effects.

Pumpkin Pics

I like my new camera. I guess it isn't quite as new but I still like it. There are still times that I know what I want it to do but I am not fast enough or just don't quite know all the settings to take complete control. Either way these pictures turned out pretty good even though with a little more practice they could have been better. This was a on Tuesday.







We are all moved in. Not all unpacked but moved in at least. We are trying to get all unpacked and clean today.

New Camera

I got the new camera today. I got some money from selling books back and Erin let me buy it a month early for a graduation present!

Ana has been sick for about a week now. After a couple days of not feeling well we took her to the doctor and found out she has an ear infection. The medicine is just starting to kick in it seems because she was doing a little better today. Either way, this is a common scene the last few days with a sick girl.
