sometimes, this mommy business is hard

Still having a hard time getting out of this rut. Talking to my sister this morning, she remembers how every winter I get into this way. Oh, springtime, I wish you were here.

*Still struggling with Ana's potty training. We've been working on it so long, going back to diapers is not an option, but I'm getting tired of her having 2 or more accidents every day. I have a few more tricks I'm going to try. Any suggestions?

*Jack is totally regressing on the sleeping-thru-the-nite business. He's waking up 2 or 3, sometimes 4 times a night. I don't know what to do...

*The same baby wants to be held all day. He follows me around fussing until I pick him up. If he does play happily, Ana usually comes along and makes him cry. Its getting old.

*I feel like my house is always a mess and I have ZERO motivation to get anything done. The stuff we acquired over the holidays still haven't quite found a permanent place, and so I feel very much swallowed up in stuff.

*Dave got me flowers today. They make me smile.

I hoping to be able to take a trip to Poky this week. I need a change of scene for a few days. But I'll take my flowers with me. I like them.

Your flowers are beautiful. Despite it all, you have a wonderful husband and a beautiful girl! I can't believe she is doing so much.
Hope you get your trip to Poky and some sunshine to go with it.

What beautiful flowers! Hang in there, I know you are an awesome mom. I hope you get your trip to Poky and a much needed break. Come visit us! :)

I have yet to potty train my almost 2 year old, but my sister-in-law swears by the doll technique. You get a doll and have Ana teach the doll how to go to the bathroom on the potty. I hope this might help. Good luck! :)

hang in there, Erin! sending love and hugs your way. John gets the same way in the winter. I'm glad the flowers help - I hope spring comes soon with lots of flowers for you!

Have you let Ana follow you into the bathroom to witness the fact that even Mommy has to do this all the time, too? It made a difference to Austin when we all got very vocal--- "I have to go pee now", etc. and when the boldest of us allowed him into the bathroom with us when we went.

And about the house, Erin, remind yourself that the housework has infinite patience whereas your kids need you when they need you. You'll have plenty of chances to keep your home spotless as they grow up.

Also, try the hymn which number eludes me but is called The Time is Far Spent. Read and sing the fourth verse. I firmly believe that this verse applies to moms with small kids more than almost anybody else. It has helped me feel strengthened many times.

Erin,
You are awesome! It's okay to let the house go to pot. You've got two babies to take care of. I always love reading your post! Hey if you are in town and needs something fun to do a few of my friends and I are going country line dancing Thursday.
