skinny girl

Ana had her 1 year doctor's appointment today. In 6 months she hasn't gained any weight. She's grown taller (she's in the 75th percentile), but over the last month she's actually lost a few ounces. At 15 months, if she still isn't gaining weight, they are going to do some metabolic tests to make sure everything is all right. I know I shouldn't worry, but I do. I'm afraid I'm not feeding her enough. I have a degree in health science and child development and my own daughter isn't growing how she should. Everything else developmentally looks good, but I still worry about my little skinny girl.

I didn't know you did health science and child development. What a great degree! Your little girl is beautiful. Please keep me updated on the weight thing. In the meantime, I will pray for her.

Sounds like Ana will just be tall and skinny. My friend's little girl was small for a long time, and they kept doing tests on her but nothing was wrong. She was just a petite girl! I'm sure Ana will be fine. I know you're a great mom cuz you worry for your child! : )

i know how you feel, Erin. it doesn't feel good to worry about your kids.

i'm sure she's fine. it's probably because she started crawling & lost all that fat.

erin she looks great. emma is in the 90% for height and 20% for weight and has been like that since she was little. and she is tall and skinny. But i don't tell her that, and when people say "your so tall and skinny to her" she now says i'm health. and she is. take care amanda
