walking in a winter skiff of snow

We haven't had much snow in these parts. The day before Thanksgiving we had a good snowfall, but it all melted within a few days and since then we've only had an inch now and then. Even still, I really haven't been outside much. Saturday morning we awoke to a light dusting. The air was crisp, we had nothing on the schedule, the kids were going stir crazy. So we bundled up and went walking.

Ana's idea of bundling up was 4 shirts, 2 pants, a skirt, scarf, hat, mittens & boots. Jack wore his full snow suit and coat.

As usual, Ana ran on ahead and Jack lagged behind dragging a stick.

Katie stayed sleeping & bundled in the stroller.

We spent a few minutes at the park. It was deserted and the children relished in their full reign.

It was a lovely time. The walk rejuvenated us. Seeing their smiles and hearing their giggles filled me with love for these little children of mine. Simple things make life happy.
