Confession #3 - Am I the only one?

Or do other moms have a problem with over-emotionality. For example, I was driving through the Wal-Mart parking lot, perusing for a spot, listening to country radio. A song comes on about a boy who is asking his girlfriend's dad for her hand... The guy sees all these pictures of her as a little girl - dressed up as Cinderella, playing in the sprinkler, riding a bike for the first time, etc. And he realizes that in her dad's eyes, he's just stealing Cinderella. So there I am in the parking lot, listening to this cheesy song, bawling my eyes out. It was pathetic really. Things like this happen frequently, particularly when involving family tenderness. Hallmark commercials, and even my friend's wedding do it to me too. (Dave is always quick to point out that I didn't cry at our wedding, but I cry at everything else.) So, I ask again, am I the only one?

I can empathize. I was in the car by myself a couple of weeks ago and heard "She's in Love w/ the Boy" and I totally started crying because, well, you know.

No. the song Butterfly kisses gets me every time, and that one about the mama's shoes at Christmas time. I wish I knew the name of that shoe one. But I'm always getting emotional about everything.

I have been crying over everything remotely emotional lately. I've been chalking it up to my age and the accompanying hormonal shifts, but maybe it's something we're all reading, eating, doing, etc. I feel compelled to confess that I actually really hate that mama's shoes Christmas song, but the one that makes me wanna cry is Rodney Atkins' "I Wanna Be Like You"(or whatever the title is. I LOVE THAT SONG! It reminds me how important it is that we BE what we want our kids to be.

I think it is a mark of your sentimental and caring heart. I don't think it is a bad thing at all. In fact, I find it more endearing. Mormon ads are the ones that always get me. The other day I saw the one with the girl and the handicap legs swimming...oh man...

The first time I heard the Christmas Shoes song, I was driving and almost had to pull off of the road. But now I think it is kind of annoying. The other song that gets me is Tim McGraw's song "If You're Reading This". Maybe it's because Dad was in the Air Force and JD had one of his buddies killed in Iraq this spring. Anyways, it's a weepy-sobby if you haven't heard it.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. And Janet, that Rodney Atkins song makes me cry too.
