in which i blog from a hospital bed

Yesterday morning about 10:30 I started feeling some major pain in my abdomen. Dave came home from work, and at about 4:30 our doctor friend came over to check it out.

Appendicitis.

Last night I had surgery. Because I don't have anything else to do before we move in two weeks.

I'm feeling much better this morning, but I will say this much: I don't like surgery. I woke up out anesthesia shivering. I tossed and turned all night. Or at least I would have if my incisions didn't hurt when I moved. (But at least I'm not doubled over in pain when I walk.)

My one consolation: I won't ever have appendicitis again. I'm also very glad that I have so many wonderful friends and family members that are willing to help out. I'm also very glad it was appendicitis and not some other complication from my miscarriage. And I'm glad it happened this week and not two weeks from now.

I guess it could be worse.

I'm glad you're safe and well. I hope you have a good recovery. I'm sure you don't need advice, but be sure to let everyone help you, since I know you can't lift much & have your move coming up. Take care of yourself!

Oh no! Hope your recovery goes fast! I'm glad you were able to get it figured out quickly though- appendicitis can be scary. I had the same thing last year- it's not fun!
Take care of yourself and good luck with your big move!

How scary! I'm glad your surgery went well, though, and that you will never have to go through that again! Hope you get some rest.

My goodness!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with a surprise surgery! I didn't expect to have surgery on my finger in December, but at least I had a few days to ruminate on it and plan for it...I didn't have horrible pain just sort of crop up, followed by surgery that night!! You poor thing!! I'm glad you've got plenty of support around you. Were I in town, I'd bring you magazines and do your dishes and laundry and clean your bathrooms! Yeah, I can say that, because I'm not in a position to have you prove me wrong. But how can you be sure I wouldn't really do it?
