2007 reflections

I always like a new year. I always feel somewhat refreshed and re-motivated to improve. And I like to think about the past year - accomplishments, blessings, struggles, changes, etc. I have mixed emotions about this last year. Here are some thoughts:

I'm really proud that I got my Bachelor's degree. Its always been a goal of mine and I feel really blessed that I was able to do it. Sometimes, I feel like I cheated getting a degree in University Studies and that I'm really not all that smart. Overall, though, I am glad that I did it.

I am so glad I started blogging this year. Though I often spend way too much time on the computer, this little piece of cyberspace has been a way for me to find my identity again - figure out who I am besides Mommy and Homemaker (though I love been both of those things).

I am also glad I've started sewing and crafting more often. I've never felt I was that crafty a person, but as I've gotten into it, I find I really like it, even if its not as artsy and cutesy like I always see.

But, I have a lot of goals for this year, too. I usually think for a while about my resolutions. There are so many things I want to do better that it takes me a while to narrow it down to just a few reachable goals. I'm still working on that post.

This has probably been the biggest change over the year:

Don't feel like you cheated on your degree. You took the classes, you had the credits, you have your Bachelors...that's a great accomplishment!

Ya, don't sell yourself short with your degree. A degree is a degree. Plus a degree doesn't define your intelligence anyway. You're brilliant. That is all there is to it.
Also, I am SUPER sad I didn't get to see you. By the time I actually got to my house on Sunday I figured there wasn't much chance of being able to see you while I was home. I want to see you so so so bad! Hopefully soon. I will keep my fingers crossed.
PS I love your blog post.
